In Aotearoa New Zealand, the Māori New Year starts at the first new moon following the rising of Puaka (this year on 12 June) and Matariki (on 17 June), which in 2017 falls on 24 June.  Puaka is the principal star of Kāi Tahu.

KUMA will celebrate innovation and achievement on Friday, 23 June, 5.30-7.30pm at Innov8HQ, the new business hub owned by KUMA members Heidi and Steve Renata.

This will be a celebration of creativity and innovation, showcasing some of Otago and Southland's artistic and enterprising people and ventures : fashion, art, culture, korero and kai.

The evening will conclude with one of KUMA members being acknowledged with He Tohutohu Maumahara ki a Suzanne Spencer - an award given annually to one of our networking businesses.
