Your HollyfordTrack experience begins among ancient Beech forest beneath the soaring, snow-capped Darran Mountains. Along this moderately challenging 3 day walk you’ll encounter crystal clear waters, mirror-like lakes, waterfalls, reefs, sand-dunes and surf.
The sheer diversity of vegetation and wildlife in this valleyis something very special. The bird life is abundant: Wood Pigeon, Kea, Kaka, Bellbirds, Warblers, Robins, Chaffinches, Cuckoo, Tui, White Heron as well as many species of sea birds are common. You’ll visit a colony of seals and during certain months you may catch a glimpse of the rare Fiordland Crested Penguin.
